Scrooge in Stilettos Meets Hot Fireman
Noelle is a photographer who had given up on her dream and is now an uptight HR manager for a high-end department store. Jake is a sexy fireman in line for a big promotion he’s not sure he wants. The two meet when Jake becomes Noelle’s upstairs neighbor. They are further thrown together when they are both appointed to plan the charity gala Noelle’s store is sponsoring for the fire department. Enter Charlie, the Spirit or Angel (it’s not really clear) who stirs things up and creates shenanigans to help Noelle regain her faith and open herself up to possibilities.

Romance Factor: 9 Christmas Bells — Baking Christmas cookies and decorating a Christmas tree together, so sweet and romantic. Not to mention things I can’t mention without spoiling things.
Cheese Factor: 10 Christmas Bells — Any time a movie is a riff off of A Christmas Carol it gets an automatic 10 in the cheese factor. It’s good cheese though, like smoked sharp white cheddar!
Christmasy Factor: 10 Christmas Bells — There’s a spirit (or angel) of Christmas Past, that’s about as Christmasy as you can get.
EXTRA CHEESE FACTORS (COMMON TROPES):
Overbearing or demanding boss- This was a little bit comical with immediate boss being somewhat kind, but also an extreme Mama’s boy who defers to his overbearing mother’s wishes.
Woman with Christmas inspired name — Noelle. She likes decorating for Christmas, but seems to dislike Christmas otherwise. It’s a little strange.
Angel/Spirit — Jean Smart is just enchanting as Charlie the Christmas Spirit.
Hot Fireman- Like, SUPER HOT! Almost too hot for Hallmark!
OVERALL THOUGHTS:
Starts out a little eye-rolly and slow. I’m not going to lie, the opening with the nasty boss and Noelle’s character being so uptight and snooty to her new neighbor nearly made me turn the movie off and search for another. But I stuck it out and I’m glad I did. Charlie the Christmas spirit was, without a doubt, the best part of the movie. And while the ending was somewhat predictable (hello, it’s a Hallmark Christmas movie, what do you expect?) it was perfect for the story.
